1. Introduction

CCMNet, the Cyberinfrastructure Mentorship Network, serves as a platform for Cyberinfrastructure Professionals (CIPs) to engage in peer-mentoring activities and collaborate on research and educational programs. This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the guidelines and expectations for participants utilizing the CCMNet platform in alignment with its core objectives.

2. Acceptable Use

Participants are expected to utilize the CCMNet platform in a manner consistent with its objectives, including:

  • Engaging in mentorship activities to support fellow CIPs.
  • Sharing best practices in mentorship to foster professional growth.
  • Contributing to the development of an inclusive and diverse CIP community.
  • Enhancing the ConnectCI knowledge base by sharing insights and resources.

3. Prohibited Activities

In support of its objectives, CCMNet prohibits the following activities:

  • Engaging in behavior that undermines mentorship efforts or disrupts the collaborative environment.
  • Sharing inaccurate or misleading information that may compromise the integrity of mentorship practices.
  • Discrimination against individuals based on race, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
  • Contributing content that contradicts the principles of inclusivity and diversity within the CIP community.

4. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

Participants must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies while utilizing the CCMNet platform.

Any unlawful behavior or violation of regulations may result in the termination of access to the platform.

5. Security Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts and adhering to CCMNet's security protocols, including:

  • Safeguarding login credentials and ensuring their confidentiality.
  • Refraining from sharing account information or access credentials with others.
  • Reporting any known or suspected security breaches or unauthorized access to CCMNet administrators promptly.

6. Reporting Violations

Participants are encouraged to promptly report any violations of this Acceptable Use Policy to CCMNet administrators.

7. Acceptance of Policy

By utilizing the CCMNet platform, participants acknowledge their understanding and agreement to comply with the terms outlined in this Acceptable Use Policy.

8. Updates to the Policy

CCMNet reserves the right to update this Acceptable Use Policy as needed to reflect changes in organizational objectives, legal requirements, or technological advancements. Participants will be notified of any updates, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
